DOMINIC MILLER: SHAPE OF MY HEART TOUR

Widely known as Sting’s trusty side-kick guitarist and the co-author of many Sting’s super hits, is due to make his first appearance in Alberta and British Columbia. Dominic Miller and his band are bringing the program “THE SHAPE OF MY HEART” to Western Canada in January 2025.

Dominic Miller has been involved in every Sting album since the 1991’s “The Soul Cages” and performed over a thousand concerts with the former “The Police” singer as well as co-written hit songs such as “Shape Of My Heart” and “La Belle Dame sans regrets”.

He recently accompanied Sting in his 2024 “Sting 3.0” tour across Europe and North America, which included five sold out shows in Toronto.

Dominic Miller is also a very successful solo artist having released 12 albums to positive reviews.

CANYON LIGHTS AT CAPILANO SUSPENSION BRIDGE PARK

Step into a magical winter wonderland at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park with the return of the iconic Canyon Lights. From Friday, November 22, 2024 to Sunday, January 19, 2025, the Park will be aglow with millions of holiday lights, filling the air with festive cheer, seasonal treats, and fun for the whole family.

Stroll across the world-famous suspension bridge, illuminated by a mesmerizing display of multi-coloured lights that span the canyon, creating a breathtaking glow from end to end. Then, wander along Cliffwalk’s twinkling walkway along the cliff’s edge creating a stunning backdrop of lights along the granite cliff face. Over at Treetops Adventure, towering Douglas-fir trees are lit from tree top to bottom, offering visitors a fairytale-like journey up to 110 feet above the rainforest floor.

 Tickets and annual passes are now available and must be purchased in advance online, at capbridge.com, with a limited quantity of tickets available in 30-minute arrival increments. Don’t forget, BC Annual Passholders need to reserve their entry time online prior to every visit. Book early to avoid missing out!


BC FIREFIGHTERS BRIGHT NIGHTS 50/50

Bright Nights 50/50 tickets will be on sale from November 26 to midnight on January 10, 2025. Proceeds from each ticket help fund programs for burn survivors across British Columbia, including Burn Camp and the Home Away Program.

Last year’s jackpot reached an incredible $422,710 with the winner taking home half! Tickets for the Bright Nights 50/50 are one for $15, three for $40, six for $60, and 25 for $250. The draw will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

The Bright Nights 50/50 was created in 2020 to recoup lost funds during the cancellation of Bright Nights due to the pandemic. It also supported fundraising efforts in 2021 when mechanical issues and the theft of electrical cords forced the premature closure of the event and in 2022 when the Stanley Park Train was not running. The Bright Nights 50/50 is an important holiday fundraiser for the Burn Fund.

The Vancouver International Boat Show returns to BC Place Stadium January 29th – February 2nd!

Providing attendees with a first look at the 2025 boating season’s premiere boat models and accessories along with presentations and workshops led by boating experts.

This year’s show will once again be hosted in two locations, indoors at BC Place and the floating show at Granville Island. Free shuttle buses and water ferries will also be operating continuously between the two
venues.

Aziz Ansari is an award-winning actor, director, writer and comedian. Bachman Turner-Overdrive, the legendary rock n’ roll band behind worldwide hits such as “Takin’ Care Of Business” and “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet”, announced an extensive tour across Canada in April and May of next year titled, Back In Overdrive Tour 2025. Multi-platinum April Wine and Headpins, two fellow Canadian rock bands, will open in support. Tickets go on sale next Friday, November 8.

Last year, Randy Bachman revived BTO, and has continued to tour throughout 2024 with a run of US dates wrapping up next week.
